Formerly a mining town and railroad stop, now slowly mummifying in the desert heat, Goffs stands forgotten in the Mojave wastes. When Route 66 was moved further south, traffic to and from Goffs trickled off and died out. A house, general store, some sheds, and the back of a semi filled with personal belongings are the main points of interest in this area. Being so far out in the desert, there is no need to be concerned with nosy neighbors or security. There is no one to watch over Goffs any more.
